House of Lords ruling on historic abuse cases

The House of Lords has effectively extended the deadline for some abused victims seeking compensation from their abusers. In some sectors this will also affect employers of those abusers, particularly in health, social care and education, according to law firm Browne Jacobson. The ruling will mean that for the first time the limitation period in both negligence and assault cases can be extended at the court’s discretion.
