Damages for freak accident

A man whose life was ruined after he was hit on the back of the neck in a freak accident has been awarded £1mn in compensation. He was standing outside a London pub when the accident occurred. A sun lounger blew off the roof of the pub and crashed into him. The force of the blow was so great that it knocked him to the ground. He suffered both mental and physical injuries in the accident. He was left with a severe neck injury and the accident also triggered a depressive psychosis.
