£5.6mn for brain damage at birth
An NHS Trust has paid out £5.6mn in damages to a boy who was brain damaged at birth. He was left with cerebral palsy after
being deprived of oxygen due to the failure of the hospital to deliver him by caesarean section. The Trust admitted liability.
The boy has problems with walking and will become increasingly wheelchair dependent. He will receive a £943,000 lump sum plus
annual payments for the rest of his life.
