Government sees pleural plaques legislation as not appropriate

The House of Commons recently held a debate on the House of Lords’ decision on pleural plaques, and the recent announcement by the Scottish Parliament that it would introduce legislation to reverse the decision. Government minister Bridget Prentice said the Government’s current view “is that a change in the legislation is not appropriate; it would change the law of negligence so fundamentally that it would not be an appropriate process”.
