R&SA research shows that charities do get sued

Royal & SunAlliance (R&SA) has released research that has dispelled the myth that charities don’t get sued. The research found that one in three people (14.7mn) in Britain would try to claim compensation from a charity if they slipped or tripped and injured themselves while at a charity event or on charity premises. Around 420,000 people in Britain would try to get compensation from a charity, even if the accident was their own fault. This is despite the fact that, as a nation, we donate almost £7.5bn to charity each year, said R&SA.
