Police settle over earring discrimination case

A police force has settled a case brought against it by a police officer who claimed that he was not allowed to wear an earring whilst on duty. He claims that he was singled out for his gold earring simply because he is homosexual. Under the force’s dress code policy, women are allowed to wear small earrings on duty but not men.
