Road accident arbitration

A scheme for arbitration, where there is no personal injury, is to be launched by the Road Traffic Arbitration Scheme (ROTAS) in January 2000. To be adjudicated by people of County Court level, it is hoped to reduce time and costs for insurers and drivers. Differing from other arbitration schemes, legal representation is discouraged and those insisting on it will pay their own costs – win or lose.
