Industrial injuries benefit phase-out?

Informal talks have been held between the Department of Social Security, CBI, TUC and ABI. This is with a view to ending the industrial injuries benefit scheme, set up 50 years ago mainly to service nationalised industries. The Social Security Secretary is drawing up proposals whereby such benefits would be included in existing commercial insurance.
