Radon settlement
In respect of allegations that exposure to radon while at work led to Frances Stanbrook’s husband’s death from lung cancer
in 1990, Laporte Industries has reached a ‘substantial’ settlement with her, supported by her husband’s trade union GMB. Although
the allegations have not been subjected to the scrutiny of the courts, this settlement has wider implications.
