Mobile phone safeguards

Responding to public concern, the Swiss government has issued new rules, setting a ceiling on non-ionising radiation from mobile phone mast transmitters. The Swiss telecoms association Protelecom claimed these were 10 times tougher than in comparable countries and would force companies to build additional transmitters (to avoid emission concentration) at an extra cost of SF1bn.
