Man wins damages for ladder fall

A man has won £77,178 in damages after falling from a ladder. The moulding machine operator fractured his shin bone when he fell from an 8ft ladder. He was off work for eight months. Trade union Amicus fought his case, arguing he should have been provided with either a longer ladder or a better system, such as a gantry, to access the boards. The company admitted liability.
