Football League’s professional negligence claim fails

The Football League has managed to win all of £4 in its claim for £150mn in damages from its former legal advisers in relation to a failed television deal. The case was believed to be one of the biggest ever professional negligence claims. The League was awarded £4 for two breaches of duty, but it was ordered to pay 90% of the legal costs of the solicitors. The costs could be as much as £5mn.
