£1mn compensation for Potters Bar victim
Nearly £1mn in compensation has been paid by Network Rail and former rail contractor Jarvis to the novelist Nina Bawden. She
had been injured in the Potters Bar train crash, and her husband had been killed. The settlement was made a few weeks before
the case was due to be heard.
