£3.25mn for brain damage at birth
A man has been awarded £3.25mn in compensation in an out-of-court settlement after he suffered brain damage at birth. The
man, now aged 20, requires round-the-clock care. His mother claimed that despite scans showing he was underdeveloped, the
hospital failed to monitor the birth, the birth was not induced early enough, and signs of foetal distress early in the labour
were disregarded. The health authority accepted partial responsibility for his injuries.
