Lawrence victim wins £100,000 from police

The man who was subject to the same racist attack which resulted in the death of Stephen Lawrence has been awarded £100,000 damages by Scotland Yard. The man sued the police for negligence but his claim failed. He alleged he was treated as a criminal and later suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder. He agreed to drop his latest legal action against Scotland Yard as part of the settlement and has received a written apology.
