Review of airline insurance market from Aon
The aviation insurance sector is likely to see a shift in global balance away from North America in 2006, according to the
findings of Aon’s Aviation Airline Insurance Market Review of 2005. Europe and Asia’s airlines are playing an increasingly
strong role in the aviation markets, resulting in the North American share of the global fleet value declining from 37% to
33% since 2001 and passenger share down from 41% to 36%. In turn, this has led to decreases in insurance premium share from
39% to 32% to reflect changes in global risk exposure, says Aon.
