Managing Office Party Liability

So how was your Christmas? Or more to the point, how was your Office Christmas Party? The usual hedonism, acrimony and fights? Or a stale mince pie and some watered down mulled wine? Either way, the question has to be asked, purely from a liability point of view - should office parties be banned?
