An employment tribunal has awarded £52,146 to a former police detective for loss of earnings and injury to feelings. The retired detective, a specialist in counter-terrorism, claimed that he had been prevented from working as a freelancer for Sky News. He claimed he was dropped by Sky after intervention by the Metropolitan Police. The tribunal ruled that he had been victimised.
