Damages for cancer misdiagnosis

A hospital trust has paid damages to a woman who was misdiagnosed with cancer and as a result had a kidney removed. It turned out that she did not have cancer but instead had been suffering from kidney stones. She was informed three weeks after the operation. The trust admitted liability and paid £33,650 in damages.
