CBI calls for alliance of insurers and government on EL

The head of the Confederation of British Industry, Digby Jones, has urged insurers to work in alliance with the UK government to find a solution to the current crisis over employers’ liability. Jones told a Marsh-sponsored seminar, that it was vital that all sides began working together on the issue “if cover is to stay within reach of many firms”. He added that rising employers’ liability insurance costs were “without doubt having a negative impact on the competitiveness of UK businesses, especially smaller companies or those in high-risk industries.”
