The ongoing medical liability crisis in the US was acknowledged by both candidates in the recent vice presidential debate,
during the 2004 Presidential election campaign, according to the Physician Insurers Association of America (PIAA), an association
of doctor or hospital- owned and/or operated medical liability insurance companies.
