Anti-epilepsy drug concerns in pregnancy

Researchers have found that an anti-epilepsy drug given to pregnant women can significantly lower their child’s IQ. The study, by The Walton Centre of Neurology and Neurosurgery, discovered that children of women who took sodium valproate were more likely to have lower IQs, a lower verbal IQ, and were more likely to have anatomical abnormalities.
