Illness not foreseeable as a result of work pressures

The claimant was an experienced teacher in the reception classes of an independent prep school. She was suffering a period of serious clinical depression following additional school inspections and significant changes in work patterns and requirements. She returned to work but suffered a relapse and further serious depression. She was subsequently dismissed on health and operational grounds and brought a claim for damages for her clinical depression.
