HSE investigates lung illnesses at factory
The Health & Safety Executive is investigating a car engine factory in Birmingham where around 70 employees have been diagnosed
with alveolitis and occupational asthma. Employees are to be screened for the lung illnesses and are being asked to wear face
masks as a precaution. Both illnesses can be caused by microbes in metalworking fluids
