MAIB report on MV Jambo sinking
A report issued by the Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB) reveals that there has been no evidence found of environmental
marine pollution from the wreck of the cargo ship MV Jambo. The ship sank off Wester Ross last summer, whilst carrying 3,000
tonnes of zinc sulphide. A salvage operation was later abandoned. The MAIB has called for a three-year environmental monitoring
programme at the site.
