Arthritis drug withdrawn over heart attack risk
Merck has announced a global withdrawal of its arthritis drug Vioxx after a colon cancer trial confirmed long-standing concerns
the drug raises the risk of heart attack and stroke. The drug is believed to be used by an estimated 400,000 people in Britain.
