Settlement for sexual abuse

A man with Down’s syndrome has received an out-of-court settlement following his allegations that he had been sexually abused at a residential care home run by the local council. The abuse took place between 1997 and 1999. He was left with depression and post traumatic stress disorder. The council denied the allegations but agreed to pay undisclosed damages.
