Wal-Mart allowed to appeal

A US appeals court has given Wal-Mart, the world’s largest retailer, the right to appeal against a decision to allow a sex discrimination lawsuit to proceed as a class action. The lawsuit involves allegations of discrimination against female staff regarding equal pay and promotion. The case would be the largest US civil rights case against a private employer, involving around 1.6mn present and former Wal-Mart employees.
