Pharmaceutical firm ordered to pay $1bn
A Texas state court jury has ruled that US pharmaceutical firm Wyeth should pay $1bn to the family of a woman who died as
the result of respiratory disease allegedly connected to her use of the diet drug Fen-Phen. The award includes $113m in compensatory
damages and $900mn in punitive damages.
