Employment and the Race Relations Act

A self-employed taxi driver was not within the extended definition of “employment” in the Race Relations Act 1976. The Court of Appeal dismissed the appeal of the claimant, and upheld the decision of the employment tribunal, and the appeal tribunal, that it had no jurisdiction to determine whether the claimant had been discriminated against.
