Lost education claim partially succeeds

A boy who sued his school for £10,000 for 10 months of lost education when he was expelled after a classroom fire has won an appeal. The court had ruled that he was not entitled to damages under the Human Rights Act, even though his expulsion had been unlawful. But the Court of Appeal ruled that he should be awarded damages for seven of the 10 months.
