Asbestos “most expensive tort in US history”
The US research group RAND Institute for Civil Justice has said that asbestos has become the most expensive tort in US history.
In a RAND study, it says that insurers and manufacturing companies have paid out around US$70bn in asbestos-related costs
on 730,000 claims.
