Insurers fail in Halliburton case

A US bankruptcy judge has rejected an attempt by two groups of insurers to block the US$4bn settlement of asbestos claims against two units of US oil-services group Halliburton. The insurers claimed that units of Halliburton should not be allowed to use Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection to resolve their asbestos liabilities.
