Brit stops writing direct aviation risks

Brit Insurance has ceased underwriting direct aviation risks. These include airlines, general aviation and aviation product risks, with an estimated premium income of around £60mn. The company’s ceo was quoted in the press as saying the account is currently profitable, but the risk-to-reward balance that this account represents does not fit with the company’s portfolio.
