Asbestos widow “too late to sue”
A woman left it too late to sue her husband’s former employers after his death from mesothelioma in 1999. The High Court ruled
that she could sue for damages even though her claim was outside of the three year time limit, but this was reversed by the
Court of Appeal, which said it did not have the powers to change the rule or show discretion. To win the right to sue, the
woman would have to take the case to the House of Lords.
