Employers must control accident costs

Employers must understand and take control of their accident costs or they will lose control in the face of the claims culture, delegates at the AIRMIC conference heard. Gary Marshall, risk manager at The Polestar group, told a conference workshop that liability claims continued to rise because of the growing number of smaller claims. Documentation is often poor and ineffective in showing what the employer had done to assess and control the risks.
