NAO to investigate CRB

The National Audit Office is to investigate the troubled Criminal Records Bureau with a current backlog of 100,000 vetting applicants. This despite postponing checks on 300,000 carers, agency nurses and school governors. Delays recently prevented a number of teachers being in place at the start of the academic year.
