Irish ferry operator says: no cause for alarm

Following questions from analysts Irish ferry operator, Irish Continental Group (ICG), issued a statement on market rumours that it was a target for asbestos suits. ICG had, indeed, settled a small number of such suits all related to workers’ exposure while undertaking repairs on a vessel chartered in 1989. These settlements had since been covered by the then-owner of the vessel, B&I, through its insurance.
