Complaints to MDU
The Medical Defence Union reports a 15-fold increase in the number of complaints raised against doctors from 1990 to 2001,
the latest annual total 558. While the bulk of earlier complaints hinged on ‘improper relationships’ with patients, 80% today
relate to clinical care.
