Smallpox vaccination risk

An article in New Scientist of 21/28 December 2002 highlights risks from US plans to vaccinate a million Americans against smallpox early in 2003. Commonsense and earlier studies suggest that there will be adverse reactions, leading to serious illness or death, from a few recipients, the only tested remedy in short supply.
