Injury to feelings

An appropriate level of damages for injury to feelings should only exceed £25,000 in exceptional cases, and awards of less than £500 should be avoided as derisory. This in an appeal against employment tribunal decisions on compensation for loss of future earnings and £25,000 for injury to feelings plus £5,000 aggravated damages. The appeal on the latter issue allowed.
