Finance director denied appeal

The finance director of St George’s Healthcare NHS Trust, Ian Perkin, is to claim unfair dismissal and violation of his right to express an honest opinion. His ‘sins’ include supporting a junior member of staff who refused to submit false figures in an NHS return on operation cancellations, and openly saying that sought-for savings were impossible and the result of misguided NHS calculations of hospital budgets.
