Public access to information

The planned scrapping or amending of up to 100 pieces of legislation, to allow greater public access to information in many spheres, will include the findings of accident investigators. At present, under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, officials are prohibited from releasing information arising from accident investigations. The change is likely to strengthen compensation claims in this area.
