Food additives linked to tantrums

Research by the Asthma and Allergy Research Centre, commissioned by the Ministry of Agriculture, links disruptive behaviour in 25% of toddlers to a range of colouring additives in foods. These additives, including Tartrazine (E102), Sunset Yellow (E110), Carmoisine (E122) and Ponceau 4R (E124) as well as preservative Sodium Benzoate (E211) are found in nearly two-fifths of foods targeting to this young age group.
