Who report on ‘measurable harm’
The World Health Organisation’s
World Health Report 2002
shows that 10% of those entering British Hospitals suffer some measurable harm as a result of medical procedures. Broadly
similar to several European countries it is far greater that US incidence, but even further below the poor situation in Australia.
Two years ago the National Audit Office estimated that 100,000 infections were picked up in hospitals every year.
