US liability limits renewed
A congressional committee has agreed to renew liability limits for accidents at nuclear power plants, originally set under
the Price-Anderson Act of 1957, and continue the federal programme covering nuclear plants for a further 15 years. The liability
of the privately-owned plant owners is limited to US$9.3bn.
