Soil association study of GM economics

A study by the Soil Association, Seeds of Doubt, claims that genetically modified (GM) crops have been an “economic disaster” in the US, costing US$8bn in lost profits and higher subsidies since 1999. Farmers have reported lower yields and continued dependency on chemical sprays along with widespread contamination of non-GM crops leading to litigation and damage to exports.
