Halliburton takes further charge

Halliburton is to take a further charge of US$80mn for asbestos liabilities following a ruling of the Delaware Supreme Court that primary insurance policies issued by Halliburton’s subsidiary, Highlands Insurance Group, to a Halliburton unit between 1958 and 1986 terminated in 1996 with Halliburton’s spinoff of Highland.
