General Motors
General Motors (GM) is continuing to spend around US$10mn a year on legal fees and settlements of claims arising from asbestos
in brake linings. GM said it is settling claims, although believing them to be without merit, to avoid legal fees and the
risk of ‘runaway verdicts’.
