Local authority guide to EPA
The Environment Agency has produced a new
Guide for Local Authorities
on the application of Part IIA of the Environmental Protection Act (brought into force in England in April 2000 and providing
for identification and cleanup of contaminated land). Not part of the statutory guidance, it aims to convey a working knowledge
of legislation to local authorities and encourage a consistent approach to interpretation of the requirements.
